From numerous hikes miles into the Colorado mountains, high above the cloud covering, Kevin Hayne often shared with us amazing sights and powerful photographic imagery. Kevin was an avid Joomla! developer, hiker, and photographer, and was planning to go to college this fall with the goal of entering the ministry. However, on June 15, 2010, Kevin was attempting to climb Little Bear Peak with a friend when the ledge he was on gave way and he fell several hundred feet to his death.

Exciting New Sponsorship Team As the new OSM Capital Committee Chair, two of my most important tasks are to analyze the results of our past sponsorship efforts, and build a plan to increase our effectiveness in onboarding new sponsors. With this in mind, I am looking to appoint members to a revived Sponsorship Team to ensure the success of the organisation’s sponsorship efforts moving forward.? This team would live within the umbrella Capital Committee, which encompasses all the income generating activities of the project.? I’m ideally searching for members of the community that have sponsorship/fundraising, sales, or strong connections in the corporate/foundation/community arenas to aid in this effort; however, even those with a passion to help are more than welcome to join! The new Sponsorship Team will provide leadership in the following areas: Building an outreach strategy that encourages growth in sponsorships Setting sponsorship revenue targets Providing regular reports to the Capital Committee Chair that can provide transparency and accountability to the OSM Board and the community But most importantly..

Community nominated and OSM Board recommended people, who all have potential to fill in several roles at the board. 15Oct Recap of Joomla Day West 2010
Joomla Day West , held at the Ebay Center in San Jose last weekend, was one of the best Joomla events I have been to yet. On Friday night, we gathered together on the back patio of eBay Town Center for Joomla night , including some announcements, delicious food, and authentic Oktoberfest music and beer. Saturday started with our Master of Ceremonies, Allen “Gunner” Gunn , running into the room with some heavy metal blasting.

If you’ve been following the blogs on community.joomla.org in recent months then you are aware of an initiave that’s been taking place to redesign the look of the Joomla! family of sites here at joomla.org We’ve been fortunate to have the work of Steven Pignataro and his team. They have presented us with some concepts and put a lot of time into plans for reorganzing the content on the various sites as well as collect valuable suggestions from you. The most recent design received the most feedback, some of it positive but also a lot of push from you to have this process opened up more to the community
