21May Ryan's Update: May 19, 2010
In an Internet landscape full of “what I ate for breakfast” posts, here’s my semi-regular dose of transparency and accountability to the Joomla community as to my activities as Open Source Matters (OSM) President. (English | Español)<!– (English | Español) –>
The past few weeks have passed by so quickly! With so much going on in the Joomla! world, I didn’t have a chance to pause, reflect, and communicate my happenings to the community. Here’s what has been keeping me busy during the second half of April and beginning of May.

- spoke at the CMS Expo in Chicago on May 3, 2010, and had a wonderful opportunity to have sit-down meetings with many members of our Joomla! community that came out in full force
- spoke at ENSOL IV in João Pessoa, Brasil on May 9, 2010, and was able to share the lessons I’ve learned in the Joomla! world with more than 400 open source enthusiasts
- spoke at Groupo RBS in Porto Alegre, Brasil, a media corporation whose technology team has quite a significant enterprise deployment of Joomla! for their Web communications platform
- spoke with a room of enterprise technology managers in Sao Paulo, Brasil, whom were interested in moving their Web infrastructures to Joomla! based systems
- spoke at the Politics Online Conference in Washington DC on April 20, 2010, about how open source projects like Joomla! are significantly contributing to the online success of political campaigns around the world
